How To Get Apple Tv On Roku

Roku Channel on AppleTV

I guess I shouldn't be surprised when I find out that something like Roku Channel is on my iPhone but not AppleTV, but I am doubly surprised that from the iPhone I can't throw from the Roku Channel app to the AppleTV. I have one TV in my house that is AppleTV and I would like to watch some content from Roku Channel there, but so far it's a fail.

Worth getting a Roku box just for the Roku Channel IMO, Die Hart and Reno911 are hilarious!

Also Roku channel is on the Samsung OS and FireTV so it's nothing to do with contracts as of yet, likely they haven't gotten around to AppleTV given how small the Apple TV market is.

I'm not 100% sure but isn't there something like Chromecast but for Apple phones where you can cast to Apple TV? Would that work for the Roku channel app?

I don't why they make it so hard but what you do is open the Roku app on ipad/iphone then pull down control center and click the Screen Mirroring icon. Select your AppleTV and it should connect and you can play the show you want to watch. The roku app has a 'full screen' button so you may need to hit that to increase the size on your TV.

FWIW — you aren't missing much. Almost everything on TRC is free to watch on other apps you can install on Apple TV. Some have fewer ads too.

That's not true. They just released 30 exclusive shows that you can't find anywhere else and they have 40 more that will be coming out in the next year. TRC is well worth it for the price of Free...

The Pluto TV and Redbox apps have live streaming content. Anyone know of others?
